Boyne Valley Lions Club

The Boyne Valley Lions Club was chartered of the 18th of April 1979 with 30 members. The Club now has 19 members. We meet on the 1st Thursday of each month at the CWA Hall at Ubobo at 7:30 p.m.

The Boyne Valley is a small rural community with a population of approximately 150 people. When the ratio of members to population in country clubs is compared to city clubs, you will find that there is a lot more community commitment in rural areas.

One of the first projects of the club in 1980,was to build the barbecue area at Ubobo. We recently rebuilt this to provide a first class barbeque area.

We help out at many of the functions held in the Valley by different groups, often running the bar.

Rock & Thistle Golf Day

We run this event in September each year.It is a three person ambrose fun game of golf with novelty holes, lots of prizes, bar, live band at night, so why not stay o’nite and enjoy.

We had a great day this year, see you on the course next year.

Prostate Cancer Poets Breakfast

This is on the 16th of October. We invite poets and locals to participate and is a great fundraiser for prostate cancer research. Last year we raised $3300. We have  lots of multi draw raffles, and full breakfast entertainment.

Christmas Fair

Each year we run a Christmas Fair (date TBA) with hams and Christmas Fare raffles, a live band & bar, which is always a great success.
